Valves and actuators

For many years, PETERCEM microswitches have been used in electric and pneumatic actuators in many nuclear reactors around the world (Belgium, France, China, South Korea). Our R and T series products are particularly well suited to provide accurate switching. They are able to detect a reliable position, under extremely severe conditions, even in case of a so-called “critical” situation, such as a LOCA type accident.

PETERCEM products are present at two levels:

• In the actuator: our switches detect the position of the valve and ensure the control of the actuator.
• On a valve: our limit switches are fitted to valves and give the operator reliable information on their open or closed position.

The state of the valves, as indicated by the limit switches, contributes to the control of the site and to a good regulation of the cooling flows.

The robustness of our limit switches is superior due to the use of hermetic micro-switches. The hermeticity of the microswitches ensures high insulation values in case of steam entry in the integration boxes.

The constant work on feedback allows us to offer solutions that meet the highest standards of the nuclear industry. Whatever the type of valve, the required qualification or the location, our limit switches are qualified K1, K2, K3, ATEX or MLSB.

We also have the capacity to support our customers in developing customized solutions for innovation projects, maintenance in operational condition or obsolescence treatment.
